This one habit stopped me from giving up on what I started.

You know what is common between J. K. Rowling, Colonel Sanders of KFC, Jack Vanfield from Chicken Soup for the soul — Yes, they never gave up even after multiple failures and the rest is history — Studied, dissected, researched, blogged and enough written about it.
The key here is their unwavering conviction on their work, even after rejection or insult. It has been etched in history .

But what about the unknown, unheard of thousands of cases where people give after few steps — They do not belong to the same category of those who meet repeated failures.
Hey, these have not met even their first failure. Well, me for one.
Others see me as the highly energetic , self motivated person but that is not how I view myself.
Yes, I do have my head crammed with ideas,
Yes, I am a bug bundle of energy
Yes, I am self motivated
Yes, I do motivate others
but some how, for some reason or another ( read it as some excuse or another) I gave up some ideas after few steps.
While I was working for the corporate as a telecom architect, project manager ( and some titles) I did not have single self doubt or how I would manage big teams. I just did it, but the minute I had to start on my own, I realised I was a different ball game. Gone was the person who labled as “Highly efficient and productive”
I gave up. Nothing more, nothing less.
Yes, I am content writer now but am well aware of many ventures which just died.
so what has changed now. Well for
I became aware of the pattern which is the first win.
I realised at what point I was giving up
I understood that it was nothing dramatic but a lull back into the comfort zone of routine.
It was not fear of failure or fear of judgement
I learnt that the initial excitement and energy of the final objective was not sustainable.
and here is how I have solved it.
Before that let me tell you that I am consistently working on two projects. I have not given up and I am in no way in the “giving up” frame work of mind. I have ditched that forever.
The secret?
It was difficult for me but I eliminated that initially euphoria, excitement and replaced it with these steps ( this took some time of mental retraining)
I fixed the final objective,
What Steps I need to take
Created a notion template and then
Just focused on the next step. Nothing more.
The last step is the key here.
Even if it is just making a call or writing two paragraphs, my focus was not beyond that. Get that step done and then focus on the next.
This gives a good dopamine dose as well as a sense of progress.
Clarity is a added bonus too.
This works so well for me and it could for you to.
This does not mean the entire project will be a success, but that comes next.
Am writing my book which includes a lot of research and interviews.
So just that one next step. Nothing more, nothing less.
Trust me, This works
